Radio Detective Story Hour Episode 120 – Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

Arthur Conan DoyleMerry Christmas!  This will unfortunately have to be my last podcast for some time. Not sure how long I will be away, but stay subscribed. I am returning to the master of detective writers and a creator of one of radio’s favorite detectives – Conan Doyle and his Sherlock Holmes. This episode is from the mind of Denis Greene and Anthony Boucher and is not part of the Holmes canon. A nice little Christmas story!

Your podcast is great – I’ve looked forward to it each week.

Dear Jim, I’d often thought to write but always found a reason to remain an anonymous listener. But as you’ve indicated your departure from this podcast, I’d like to offer a sincere and heartfelt thank you for truly outstanding and brilliant product. I’m an American living in Australia and an avid fan of classic detective genre books and audio. But here’s the thing: nobody has done it as good as you have. Each podcast has been presented in a truly honorable and almost scholastic manner. Indeed, there are plenty of resources for OTR and many of them paying the bills with commercial interruptions. With you, it was like attending a graduate program with all of the nuances and treasures that a enjoyable class with that one “cool teacher” that we’ve all had and that we’ll never forget. The shows have been well-selected, well-researched and it’s not likely that anyone will ever touch the quality of your work. So, thanks for keeping the content available and this listener will quietly hope that you’ll want to revisit this again one day. Until then, warmest regards for a Happy New Year and sincere thanks. I will miss you. Lew Stowe, Sydney.
